The Marc Canter show (reprise)
We drove down to Walnut Creek to spend some time at Marc Canter’s house. Marc is probably best known as one of the co-founders of Macromedia (then called MacroMind), and is considered one of the fathers of ‘multimedia’. According to Marc, software is the new rock ‘n’ roll, and open source / open content is a form of activism that is taking back control of the internet and it’s content. He spoke passionately about the Creative Commons licencing scheme, and the promotion of ‘open’ standards and content. What was now required was a way to join up and manage the digital lifestyle. The solution: Digital Lifestyle Aggregators.

After the interview Marc played some blues guitar for us and performed some opera.
